Marketing Your New App

blog_image_new_44Congrats! You just published your first app to the app store, now what? Interaction is key for any app, but especially a new one. Without it, your app will fail. The entire purpose of having a mobile app for your business is to increase customer interaction, loyalty and (most importantly) sales. But so many don’t know how to properly promote their app. That’s what we’re here for.

Here are a couple ways to help get your app on your customers’ phones:

Print

Put up posters, flyers, coupons, anything! Make sure the announcement is big and loud. If there are in-app incentives and you offer free WiFi at your location, there’s no excuse for customers to not download the app. Create a QR Coupon code and display it large enough so that people ask you what it’s for. Boom! You have a reason to tell them about the app.

Email

If you have email marketing, use it! Don’t substitute it for print; let it complement the print campaign you have in-store. Make your email short and sweet, and go over the benefits your customers will gain with the app: coupons, instant notifications, mobile ordering, community forum. Present the information in a list, or link out to a blog post for more information. Either way, make sure to link to the app in the Google Play or App Store.

We know that the goal is to sell more, but you’ll want to avoid the “BUY, BUY, BUY” approach that turns customers away. If you’re telling them they need to buy, they’ll go elsewhere. Instead, incentivize them. With an app, you reward your customers for returning to your business. It’s a win-win.

Mobile apps are more than just marketing. They’re an investment in the future of your business. Engaged and loyal customers will keep coming back without you constantly remind them, so share great content and keeps them happy!
